iziBongo refers to "praises intoned in honor of a person." This genre of praise poetry comes from the Zulu people of
South Africa. We chose this as our name because we believe it uniquely reflects our desire to honor
THE greatest Person, our Lord Jesus Christ!
God is preparing for Himself glorious praise throughout the earth, and it is our privilege to present a small foretaste of this "glory of the nations." It's anything but traditional church music, but it truly is the music of the Church universal. Some of these songs were written in association with Bible translation projects around the globe. We seek to present these cultural treasures as authentically as possible to avoid obscuring their unique reflection of Godís creativity.
